Mickey House (actor Kacper Olszewski) is an 11-year-old who is increasingly frustrated with his changing body. His mom (actress Agnieszka Podsiadlik) is an enigma to him, and, being a loner at school, he finds solace in trading the urine at school to put off the medical checks of other students. On top of hating everything that is happening to the body, the boy’s imagination and the reality blend together into a toxic mix and as everything takes a turn to the extreme, Mickey faces the fact:growing up is not for kids.
Kuba Czekaj graduated from directing at the University of Silesia in Katowice in 2010 and from the Development Lab Feature Programme at the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing in Warsaw in 2011. He is director and screenwriter of two short features Don’t be Afraid of the Dark Room and Twist & Blood, both of which have received numerous awards.
Awards: Won a Queer Lion - Special Mention in the Venice Film Festival.
