Kristoffer lives at Tøyen in Oslo together with his flatmates Geir and Stig Inge. Geir likes to live dangerously. Stig Inge feels that Tøyen is the centre of the earth and has no immediate plans of going outside the centre.

Kristoffer’s girlfriend wants their relationship to develop further, but he thinks that they are doing fine the way things are, and Elisabeth breaks up with him. By a strange twist of fate, Kristoffer’s video diary becomes a regular feature in the most popular talk show on Norwegian television. Suddenly Kristoffer and his flatmates are celebrities.

Henriette, the new girl in the flat, fits right in with the crowd, and seems particularly interested in Kristoffer. But he suffers with a bout of self-pity and spends his time being heartbroken. He wants to get back with Elisabeth. But his new life in the media puts him in several ethical dilemmas, and threatens to ruin both friendship and the love of his life.

Morten Tyldum, born 1967, is one of the most commercially successful filmmakers in his native Norway. He received his education at School of Visual Arts in New York, then worked for NRK television on the children’s programme U, for which he shot several documentaries. Also successful was the segment Høyre from a project ironically illustrating contemporary ideology, “Utopia – Nobody’s Perfect in Perfect Country” (2002).
