2002-ieji Afganistane nėra pats saugiausias metas. Visame pasaulyje kasdien pranešamos naujienos apie JAV karius ir ieškomas teroristų grupuotes. Du žurnalistai planuoja automobiliu apvažiuoti Afganistaną, norėdami įamžinti tikrus jo žmones. Trečiasis, Claude’as, vyksta kartu, nes po tėvų mirties nelabai turi kitų veiklų. Nerasdamas, kur pasidėti, jis nusiperka vaizdo kamerą ir imasi kurti savo pirmąjį filmą. Filmą, kuris po daugelio metų virs „Riverboom“.

Afghanistan, 2002. Three young reporters get into a car for a journey that will change their lives forever.

In the year following the terrorist attacks of 9/11, young journalist Claude Baechtold finds himself in the war zone of Afghanistan. Not entirely voluntarily, the self-confessed anti-militarist is dragged on a tour of the entire country by two fearless reporters – Serge, a moralist and workaholic journalist, and Paolo, a photographer as jovial as he is absent-minded. Equipped with a video camera he bought at a bazaar in Kabul, Claude follows them for two months on a daring journey. With impressive archival footage that was until recently presumed lost, Baechtold captures in this humorous road movie doc how he inadvertently becomes a war reporter and is able thereby to deal with his own personal strokes of fate.
